Ron Freed began his career at Honda SC Manufacturing (SCM) in Timmonsville as a weld production associate in 1998 and currently serves as the Business Operations Manager for Strategy & Planning in the Mfg. Division of PowerSports & Products at American Honda Motor.
Through the years, Freed has been promoted to various management roles in production. He was also appointed to leader roles in the areas of corporate services, administration, business and morale. Freed and his team lead community outreach and workforce development for Honda in the Pee Dee Region of the state.
In 2022, he was named South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance (SCMA) Operations Professional of the Year. He currently serves on the board of directors for SCMA, as well as the SCMA Plant Operations and Workforce Committees.
Freed is a resident of Sumter. He and his wife Elaine enjoy traveling throughout the United States visiting the National Park System.
