Jeff McKay, the executive director of the North Eastern Strategic Alliance (NESA), is a veteran of economic development in the Southeast. Holding both undergraduate and graduate degrees from Western Carolina University, McKay is a certified economic developer by the International Economic Development Council. In 2005, McKay made the move to South Carolina when he became the executive director of NESA, where he has made his mark through regional and statewide partnerships. He is affiliated with the South Carolina Developers Association, is the former president of the South Carolina Economic Developers Association, and the former president of the North Carolina Economic Development Association.
