(Photo Courtesy of The City of Florence)The City of Florence hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new extension of the Rail Trail on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at the start of the boardwalk on the side of the Florence Soccer Complex, located at 1000 Soccer Way, Florence, SC. This event was open to the public, with parking available at the Florence Soccer Complex.
This new extension, approximately one mile in length, connects more than 20 miles of trails along the Rail Trail with roughly 2.5 miles of trails at the Soccer Complex, significantly enhancing the city’s network of recreational paths.
The City of Florence invited residents, outdoor enthusiasts, and community members to join in celebrating this extension, which promotes healthy lifestyles, environmental stewardship, and community connectivity.
